The water content in the block can be precisely controlled. Its efficient pore pattern ensures uniform distribution of water and nutrients, providing excellent control over the nutrient solution and pH levels.
This results in the development of a strong root system during propagation. The vertical structure and uniform distribution of the fibers ensure consistent resistance for each root, allowing them to spread evenly throughout the block.

Grodan Hugo 6 Inch Grow-Block is perfect for growing most vegetables and certain fruits throughout the entire life span of the plant. The holes in the block are perfectly sized for 1.5” A-OK starter plugs or Macroplugs.
Once your starter has outgrown its current home, showing three leaves or roots reaching one inch below the cube, Hugo is ready to receive the transplant. Hugo is sold individually with clear instructions on the wrapping. It can be hand-watered or used with drippers or in Ebb & Flow (Flood) systems.
